Kamakura

Basically Kamakura was my first real impression of Japan during my stay at a host family. The father showed around this amazing city with the huge sitting Buddha. Kamakura was the capital of Japan for 200 years, in what is known as the Kamakura shogunate. We stayed at a German restaurant with real German food and the lack of hospitality and politeness made this experience a sad remembrance. Despite that, I ate my first traditional Japanese Sushi - hand-rolled and with raw fish. In addition, I know now for certain that I don't like "nato" - fermented soy beans with mustard and vinegar. I should have been suspicious from beginning when my host mother told me that I don't have to finish it if I don't like it.
