Kobe

Kobe is a trade center of Japan and the third biggest city in the country. Although I was only staying for two days, I had the chance to explore some interesting spots in the city. Kobe was nearly totally destroyed in a severe earthquake in 1995, but was rebuilt with an unbelievable speed. I was invited to give a speech at the University of Kobe together with a friend from Tokushima, who graduated from this university. The host professor was quite eager to help with an accommodation and invited us for dinner with his research group. His son was so kind to spend the next afternoon with me guiding me to Kyoto and showing me around there.
